Dr. Philip Nahlik is a Jesuit in formation, currently teaching chemistry and visual arts at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He holds a Ph.D., masters, and bachelors of science in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago and is also a graduate of St. Louis University High School. His research interests include curriculum design for beginning chemistry students at the high school and early college levels, including inquiry-based methods and contextual problem-solving, as well as teacher support for environmental and ethical applications of science. He continues a long tradition of Jesuits involved in translation, working to communicate across cultural and religious gaps especially in their understandings of science and the natural world.
