Dr. Slavsky is an Associate Professor of Physics, former Director of the Center for Science and Math Education and Director of Core Curriculum at Loyola University Chicago and currently Associate Director of the Institute of Environmental Sustainability. He holds a doctoral degree in astronomy and astrophysics from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree in applied physics from Harvard University, and a bachelor of science degree in space sciences from Brown University. Dr. Slavsky’s efforts have focused on science education at both the undergraduate and pre-college levels. He has been involved with multiple grants involving science and math education, most of them in close cooperation with the Office of Math and Science of the Chicago Public Schools.
