Dr. Julie Belandres-Otadoy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of San Carlos (USC)–Talamban Campus, Cebu City, Philippines. She is also a Consultant and Fellow in the Environmental Studies Program and Tropical Institute for Climate Studies (TROPICS) at Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City, Philippines. She has a doctoral degree in environmental science from the University of the Philippines (UP), Diliman, Quezon City, and a master’s degree in veterinary parasitology from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of the Philippines (UP), Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines.
Dr. Belandres-Otadoy’s research interests are in the areas of global biodiversity and conservation, functional ecology, parasitology and topics in environmental science. Currently, she is the study leader of the Forest Resources Section of the USC PHIL LiDAR Project, a project spearheaded by UP-Diliman and funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of the Philippines for nationwide hazard and resources assessment using light detection and ranging (LiDAR).
