Term Term description
xylem cells

A part of the conductive tissue of vascular plants, xylem cells are shaped like straws stacked end-to-end to form tiny contiguous tubes that reach from the plant's roots to its leaves. The xylem conducts water and dissolved nutrients from the roots to all parts of the plant.
